Today March 1 sees the release of Tom Walker’s debut album, ‘What A Time To Be Alive’. The title could well be a description of what’s been going on in Tom’s head lately: he won the BRIT Award for British Breakthrough Act, and was nominated for his single, ‘Leave A Light On’. That track entered straight into the UK Official Top 40 songs of 2018, and also hit the #1 spot on iTunes in 20 countries, and sold Platinum in 10.
Dave Keuning, guitarist and one of the founding members of The Killers, is set to release his debut album, ‘Prismism’, under the name Keuning. The album comes out on January 25 next year, via Thirty Tigers. Keuning has also announced two UK performance dates – Manchester and London, on December 9 and 10 respectively.
Twins Joe and Luke McGarry, originally from Manchester, UK, but now based in Los Angeles, perform together as Pop Noir. They shot the video for their latest single, ‘White Jazz’, right in the middle of the Shibuya shopping district in Tokyo, and capture the hallucinatory nature and sheer explosive energy of the area.
Manchester band Pacific comprises brothers and songwriters Anthony Orzel (vocals and guitar) and Daniel Orzel (bass guitar, synth, backing vocals), alongside Dave Bithell on guitar, and Drew Burns on drums. Their sound is a blend of alternative, indie, and pop, and they’ve been described as the perfect combination of Elton John and Kasabian.
Jamie Lawson has released his latest single, ‘Fall Into Me’, ahead of his mammoth suppport slot touring with Ed Sheeran around Ireland and the UK. The tour will take in 46 dates, including dates in Cork, Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow, and London, First concert is on May 4 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork, Ireland.
Una Healy has been a household name since 2008 when she rose to fame as a member of five piece The Saturdays. Her latest single, ‘Never See Me Cry’ was released on 30th March, and follows on from performances at festivals and shows including C2C in London, and a headline slot at Belfast’s Nashville Songwriter’s Festival. Una’s first ever solo headline tour commences in Killarney, County Kerry, on June 15 this year, going across Ireland and the UK until the final show in London, at The Lexington, on 21 June.
Currently on their ‘Middle Of Everywhere World Tour’ and on the back of their ‘Greatest Hits’ release, Hanson have just released their new Christmas album, ‘Finally It’s Christmas’ on 3CG Records/S-Curve Records). The pop-rock trio will follow this with a number of special holiday concerts in Toronto, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, before heading to the UK where they’ll be performing at O2 Ritz Manchester.
