One Two Ten – ‘Heathers’

‘Heathers’, from Oklahoma City band One Two Ten, isn’t about a snobby clique of high school girls, but rather about a girl who’s living a bit too much of her best life. It’s an upbeat song – but there’s a sombre message.

Lesibu Grand – ‘Miranda’

The video for ‘Miranda’, by Lesibu Grand, looks like it was a lot of fun to make. It’s got costumes which shift from 1950s suburbia to space suits which look as though they’ve come straight out of ‘Lost In Space’, or ‘Star Trek’. Filming locations are lush as well, opening on a beautiful mid-century modern house I’d not say no to, there’s also a fair bit of green screen as well, with the couple in the clip flashing between their average American dream to travelling in time and space – complete with rayguns.

Byre – ‘Object Permanence’

Byre are too clever by half, with their artwork for their album ‘Here In Dead Lights’ depicting a cow – a byre of course is a cowshed. But their cleverness goes further than this; the group, who create very catchy tracks with mesmerising bass and synths, are led by Zach Zint, and Aaron Tanner, the latter of whom has a mostly instrumental side-gig called Off-Ox…when he’s not in the Byre.
