One to Watch: Switzerland’s Veronica Fusaro Promises Electrifying Performance At Eurovision 2026

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is almost upon us. As the global event in Vienna edges closer, excitement is rapidly building as each nation reveals its competing song.

Bookmakers have predicted Finland’s Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen as the top choice to take home the golden prize with the cinematic ‘Liekinheiti’, while others are placing their bets on 17-year-old Monroe, France’s 2026 entry, who’s making her mark with ‘Regarde’.

But there’s an underdog we think deserves a fighting chance in this year’s dazzling songwriting competition: Switzerland’s Veronica Fusaro with her triumphant track ‘Alice’ -a defiant anthem challenging the cycle of toxic abuse towards women.

Already established as a pioneering voice across pop, soul, and rock, Fusaro has built a strong reputation in Switzerland and beyond. Her emotionally charged and energetic performances have taken her to renowned stages such as the Montreux Jazz Festival and Glastonbury Festival. With an alternative edge, the song’s bold universal message and anthemic quality set her apart – delivering something truly special.

Alice (ESC Version)

‘Alice’ tells the all-too-familiar story of a woman gradually broken down by abuse, as personal boundaries are crossed again and again until the emotional barrier becomes impossible to break through. It’s a haunting reflection on forms of violence that aren’t physical – control, psychological pressure, and manipulation.

Fusaro shared: “Alice herself never gets to speak in the song. And that silence is part of the story. I wrote it with Charlie because this topic is still very real, and music can sometimes say things that are hard to talk about directly.”

Filled with sharp guitar riffs and gritty rock textures, ‘Alice’ is one of those hidden gems you might discover mid-show and instantly fall in love with. It lingers – both for its melody and its message – and promises an electrifying performance from Fusaro.

As far as Eurovision entries over the years go, it’s a hidden, instant gem – and who knows where it will take Fusaro on her sparkling upwards trajectory.

Veronica Fusaro will perform ‘Alice’ in the Second Eurovision 2026 Semi-Final, scheduled to take place on Thursday, 14 May 2026.
