Nik Kershaw, the man once (allegedly) described by Elton John as “the best songwriter of his generation”, has announced that he and his fabulous band will be coming to cities all over the UK this October, for ‘The 1984 Tour’.
You may remember 1984 as the name of George Orwell’s dystopian novel and subsequent films, but it was also the year that the small but perfectly formed Nik Kershaw was the UK’s biggest selling artist, and his music was consistently present for 62 weeks (some singles overlapped) in the Top 40 Singles Chart. At the same time, he released two platinum selling albums, ‘Human Racing’, and ‘The Riddle’. 40 years down the track it seems appropriate that Nik and his crew will take to the road and perform both albums in their entirety – an event never likely to happen again – so don’t miss out.
Nik and his band will be performing two sets, so note that there is no support act for this tour.
