FIVE YEARS – Duran Duran, Billy Corgan and Ian Hunter To Appear At ‘Just For One Day’ – A Star-Studded Streaming Concert Marking The Fifth Anniversary Of David Bowie’s Passing

Anna Calvi, Duran Duran and Yungblud are among the latest artists to be added to the stellar bill of a live streaming show celebrating the life and career of David Bowie.

Hosted and produced by the Starman’s longest serving band member Mike Garson, Just For One Day will also mark five years since Bowie’s passing aged 69 in January 2016.

The show features a diverse collection of artists from music and film, befitting Bowie’s constantly evolving style and eye for the zeitgeist. Contempories and collaborators, such as Ian Hunter of Mott The HooplePeter Frampton and Rick Wakeman will rub shoulders with the likes of Trent ReznorThe Cult‘s Ian Astbury and Billy Corgan  of Smashing Pumpkins. Starting at 6pm PT /0200 GMT on what would have been Bowie’s birthday on January 8, 2021, the three-hour concert will be available to ticketholders live and for 24 hours after its initial stream. Singer Adam Lambert will be performing, along with actor/musician Michael C. Hall of Dexter fame. Guitarist Earl Slick and longtime producer and friend Tony Visconti are among a host of former band members helping to make up the backing band. Musicians will be drawn from career spaning line-ups from Bowie’s 1969 self-titled album through to his final album, Blackstar. Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman is scheduled to appear and there will be musical contributions from Grammy-winner Macy Gray and Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell. The show will broadcast live on RollingLiveStudios.com via Lucra, a new streaming platform built by Streamlabs. Promoters A Bowie Celebration will donate $2 (US) from every ticket sold to Save The Children – a charity chosen by Bowie as the beneficiary from his 50th birthday concert at Madison Square Garden in 1997.
