UK singer/songwriter Jerry Williams has unveiled the official video for her brand new single ‘Mother’, which is out now. It is the lead single taken from her upcoming EP, ‘Let’s Just Forget It’ due to drop this September 16th.
Filmed in a bright yellow studio, the video is expressive of Jerry’s vintage indie-pop style.
The song was co-written and produced with longtime collaborator Dan Brown. The single also features Ian Matthews, who is best known as the drummer for the legendary Kasabian.
The single features on the new TV series ‘Scream’ which aired on July 12th 2016 on MTV USA and Netflix in Europe.
‘Mother’ is the latest track from the Portsmouth-based, 20-year-old songstress, and follows the previous single ‘Boy Oh Boy’, which received national radio support with BBC Introducing and features on the acclaimed Cold Beer EP released last year.
Drawing on inspiration from artists such as Vampire Weekend, Slow Club and Coldplay, Jerry’s narrative storytelling has caught the attention of some big songwriters and she has collaborated with Dan Carey (Rae Morris, Miles Kane), Carey Willets (Athlete) and Jim Duguid (Paulo Nutini, Alex Clare) and has been compared to the likes of Lily Allen and Gabrielle Aplin.
As one of the UK’s most exciting upcoming female artists of 2016, Jerry and her band appeared at BST Hyde Park on July 9th along with Take That, Olly Murs, Ella Eyre and more.
Already packing out venues across her home town of Portsmouth, Jerry Williams has been impressing music fans across Europe following her recent debut European Tour supporting Vanessa Carlton, which saw her play a sold-out show at the Lexington, London.
