New York band Parlour Tricks release a new Double A side single on October 5.
To be released on None Records, ‘Lovesongs’ and ‘Requiem’ illustrate that which Parlour Tricks are known for – three part harmonies with strong synth beats.
Initially made up of lead singer/songwriter Lily Cato, Bassist and Synths, Brian Kesley, Drummer Terry Moore, and Angelo Spagnolo on Guitar. who met at college and decided to form a band when Lily realised she could write songs. They were later joined by Morgane Hollowell and Darah (Dee Dee) Golub, as the songs cried out for three female voices.
As well as their three part female harmonies, Parlour Tricks’ USP is matching clothing and synchronised dance moves. Named ‘Best Pop Band in New York City’ in 2014 by Village Voice, the band recorded their forthcoming album in Nashville with producer Emery Dobyns, who allowed them to explore and experiment with their sound. The album will be out next year.
