Radiator King – ‘The Guns You Pawned’

Radiator King, aka Adam Silvestri, was created in 2011 when Adam was just starting out in hardcore punk. Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, but now based in Brooklyn, Silvestri watched how legendary underground artists such Bane and Have Heart altered the way people thought throught their music. Radiator King does the same thing with his own music, although he’s now graduated from punk to Americana – bringing a whole new sonic approach to the table with the table, with his track, ‘The Guns You Pawned’.

Review: Nahko – ‘My Name Is Bear’

Nahko is best known as the front man for the world music collective, Medicine For The People. His first solo work, ‘My Name Is Bear’ is in essence a prequel to his work with the People, and comprises 16 tracks of music and “interludes”, mostly written between the ages of 18 and 21, with some a little later. The interludes are actual unedited tape recordings of his raw thoughts. The end result is a pleasing insight into the mind of a very thoughtful and wise man.

Get The Knowledge: Squeeze Mark Definite Return With New Album

Before you are issued with a licence to become a London taxicab driver, you have to pass The Knowledge, a rigorous test of the driver’s familiarity with a number of pre-set London street routes and places of interest. A London cabbie will know how to get in and out of traffic jams, the shortest route, the most scenic route, and so on. It might seem like your driver is taking you on a circuitous route, but you know you’ll get there, because your driver has The Knowledge. Similarly, ‘The Knowledge’, from Squeeze, takes a rather winding route from the opening song, ‘Innocence In Paradise’, to final song, ‘Two Forks’, but we get there in the end.

The Begowatts release ‘Grande Charade’

Crafting a distinctive blend of rock and roll which is rooted in deep 70s grooves with a modern aesthetic, The Begowatts came together in 2012 in Madison, Wisconsin. The band, who comprise David French on lead guitar and vocals, Ben Tofflemire on rhythm guitar, Aaron Androsky on bass and percussion, and Dan Carpenter on drums, honed their live performance and perfected their sound through touring relentlessly, with the result that they built up a huge buzz across the Midwest.
