Although associated with electronic music, Malea is actually a classically trained singer, and although the title track of her new EP, ‘Swept Away’, contains many electronic elements, it’s a timeless piano ballad, with much of Malea’s singing a wordless, rich and resonant sound of longing, akin to opera.
