It’s hard to believe but the undisputed classic album, ‘Starfish’, from legendary Australian band The Church, commemorates its 30th anniversary this year. To celebrate the occasion, The Church will be touring the UK this June, including a weekend of shows at London’s Bush Hall, as well as appearances at Manchester’s Club Academy, and La Belle Angele, in Edinburgh.
It’s hard to believe but today marks nine whole years since John and Edward Grimes, twins from Dublin, walked onto the stage at X Factor in Glasgow. Looking every bit like the superstars they are, they asked the audience if they were ready to party. Nine years along, the party is very definitely still happening.
Originally from the Shetland Islands, but now based in County Durham, singer/songwriter Toni Sidgwick first started in music twelve years ago, busking on the streets of Edinburgh to support herself whilst studying. Her new single, ‘Try’, released on 4 May, has been described by Songwriting Magazine as, “…a delicate, lovely, and bittersweet indie-folk track by an absolutely brilliant songwriter.”
