The limited edition book cracks open the door to a treasure trove of Shane’s sketches, paintings, self-portraits, wild impressionistic compositions and playful character studies, set alongside handwritten lyrics, stories, photographs and abstract snippets dating back to Shane’s childhood and journeying through six decades of punk and Irish revelry.
How young is too young to know things about life, have experiences, and want to pass that wisdom along? How old do you have to be to have valuable wisdom to share? As a songwriter, I believe that storytelling is a partnership between the artist/writer and the source of inspiration. The more we let that inspiration guide us, let our experiences and emotions dictate the stories we tell, the more we’ll have to share. When I sat down to listen to artist/producer/songwriter Brye’s latest song “Rather Be Alone” I was immediately struck by how well-crafted the lyrics were, and how relatable the song was.
Self-released on October 2, Nathaniel Bellows’ third album is aptly entitled, ‘Three’. The eight songs have also taken him three years to write, and started when his father’s health started to decline and then rapidly go into freefall. Bellows senior died in March last year, and although Nathaniel continued to keep writing after his father’s death, you quickly begin to see why the number means a lot to him.
The second single from actress Natasha Heschélle, ‘Without Your Love’ is a love ballad that is at the same time a full on dance groove. The track is the follow up to ‘Can’t Nobody Bring Me Down’, which she released earlier this year. ‘Without Your Love’ was written as a part of the Canadian TV series, ‘Zahara: The Return’, which can be seen on Amazon Prime.
Singer-songwriter and artist Beatie Wolfe first came to our attention last year when she held her acclaimed solo-exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Always open to doing things that nobody else has tried before, Beatie has had her music beamed into space, and was appointed a UN role model for innovation. Beatie’s latest project is her new track, co-written and produced by multi-platinum selling producer, Linda Perry, and her empowering label, ‘We Are Hear’, which she co-founded with Kerry Brown. ‘Barely Living’ is an Americana style song, and is out today April 12.
