Maddox Jones is proving he knows exactly how to find the back of the net. His reimagined single ‘No More Ghosts’ recently soundtracked coverage of the Scottish Cup Quarter-Finals on BBC Scotland.
Originally closing his 2020 debut EP Headspace, ‘No More Ghosts’ returns in 2026 as something entirely reborn. What was once a delicate, slow-burning ballad now pulses with synth-driven energy, carrying the same emotional core but reframed through growth and clarity. It’s a conversation between past and present Maddox, trading fragility for strength, and hesitation for forward motion. Elevated production and expansive textures mirror an artist stepping confidently into a new chapter, while the accompanying visualiser reinforces that journey from haunting memories to hard-earned peace.

And like any player in form, Maddox isn’t slowing down. This summer, he lines up a major festival appearance at the Roseshire Festival, taking to the stage on Sunday 8th August alongside a crowd-pleasing lineup including Boyzlife, Eternal, The Hoosiers, and Chris Moyles with his 90s Hangover set. It’s set to be a standout date in a packed calendar and another big stage for Maddox to showcase his evolving sound.
It’s all part of a journey that’s been steadily building. From early success with The Departure, sharing stages with The Killers and Placebo, and playing iconic festivals like Glastonbury Festival, to carving out a solo career that has seen chart success, critical acclaim, and a debut headline UK tour.
With ‘No More Ghosts’ marking his first release since Waiting for the World to Turn, this moment feels less like a continuation and more like a reset, a clean strike, confidently taken.
