Switzerland has made its choice for Eurovision 2026: Alternative pop artist Veronica Fusaro will fly the Swiss flag at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest, set to take place this May in Vienna, Austria. She will compete in the second semi-final on 14 May 2026, aiming to secure a place in the Grand Final three days later.
Born and raised in Thun, Fusaro has quietly become one of the most respected voices in Swiss pop. Her sound lives in the space between pop, soul and rock, groove-driven yet emotionally open, with lyrics that feel personal without ever tipping into melodrama. It’s a balance that has earned her both critical acclaim and a devoted live audience.
Her career highlights are already impressive. Named “Best Talent” by SRF 3 in 2016, Fusaro has since performed more than 500 shows across Europe, appearing at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival, and Gurtenfestival, and supporting Mark Knopfler at the Amphitheatre of Nîmes. She wrapped up 2023 with a headline show at Zurich’s Kaufleuten, a clear marker of her growing profile at home.
“I am extremely happy and honoured to represent Switzerland at Eurovision,” says Fusaro. “It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share my music on a beautiful stage like that, with people from all over watching.”
Fusaro’s Eurovision entry will be revealed on 11 March 2026, and expectations are already high. Her current album, Looking for Connection (2025), explores themes of authenticity and human closeness in a digitally saturated world, a message that feels particularly well suited to the Eurovision stage.
The performance will be visually shaped by renowned creative director Fredrik “Benke” Rydman, whose Eurovision résumé includes winning stagings for Sweden (2015) and Switzerland (2024). With a strong song, a seasoned performer, and a proven creative team behind her, Switzerland looks set to make a serious impression in Vienna.
