Multi-platinum singer\/songwriter\u00a0Dermot Kennedy\u00a0today announces three huge Irish outdoor headline shows for June 2027, with two nights at Cork\u2019s Virgin Media Park with support from Aaron Rowe, followed by a headline show at Belsonic, Belfast. Dermot Kennedy will be performing two dates at Cork Virgin Media Park, on June 23 and 24, followed by a performance at Belfast Belsonic, Ormeau Park, on June 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Largely written and recorded in a studio down the road from his home in rural Ireland together with close collaborator Gabe Simon [Noah Kahan, Lana Del Rey], alongside an enlightening spell together in Nashville, \u2018The Weight of the Woods\u2019 is Dermot\u2019s most self-assured record to date. The poetry and music across these 14 tracks draw inspiration, energy, and strength from the country itself.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo me, the album is a beautiful homegrown thing with Irish instruments and an Irish story. There\u2019s a forest behind my house, which is a haven for my sense of wonder. It\u2019s a peaceful place where I can escape. I\u2019ve entertained the idea of living somewhere else, but I don\u2019t think I\u2019d be happy anywhere else\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

With a refreshed approach to his songwriting and production, Dermot has peeled away the layers to let his stunning voice shine through brighter than ever:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result is a thrilling blend of traditional folk textures, country authenticity, and soaring melodies that stay with you long after first listen.
