‘Drop Trou<\/a>‘ landed in June as the theme song for Shab<\/a>\u2019s fashion label, a bouncy chant-along ode to the brand\u2019s easy drop bodysuits. It was cool, it was slinky, and it was a little bit teasing. Now, four months on, house producer Dave Aud\u00e9 has taken it, cranked the tempo and turned it into something that belongs at 1am with your hands in the air.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ll admit I wasn\u2019t sure what to expect. Aud\u00e9\u2019s name is a guarantee of club credentials, but a breathy, whispered pop hook can get swallowed up by a big dance production. Here it doesn\u2019t. The kick thumps relentlessly from the first bar, a heartbeat that never lets up, and the bass rolls underneath it like a low-slung engine you can feel in your ribs. Synths spiral upward while the track gets muffled and distant, as if someone has shut a door on it, only for it to swing wide open again as the drop crashes in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shab\u2019s story is well known by now: fleeing Iran as a child, years apart from her family, arriving in New York as a teenager with one suitcase and almost no English. She is also one of the loudest voices for the women of Iran, using her platform with genuine courage. Seen through that lens, a record about wearing what you want, moving how you want and answering to no one is an anthem of freedom, and the club is where it hits hardest. Imagine a dancefloor full of women dancing exactly as they please. That\u2019s what this remix is for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And what a run she\u2019s on. ‘Lipstick’ cracked the US pop charts last year, ‘Skin & Bones \u2013 VIP’ followed in early 2026, and ‘It\u2019s On You’, with Preston Harris, climbed to No. 15 on the Billboard Dance\/Mix Show Airplay chart, her fourth Billboard Top 40 entry. Add a tour with The Wanted and a spot in the \u201cmost talked-about pop names of 2026\u201d conversation alongside Bruno Mars, RAYE and PinkPantheress, and you have an artist hitting her stride in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which makes me wonder what 2027 holds. If this is where Shab is heading into the new year, with a sound that\u2019s confident and unmistakably hers and a team willing to pair her with the right collaborators, then the next twelve months could be something special. The sophomore double album One Suitcase alone has me curious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now, the Dave Aud\u00e9 Remix of \u201cDropTrou\u201d is the sound of an artist at full power. Play it loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
