‘Comes In Waves’ has been released just a few weeks after Carly Simon revealed<\/a> that she’s been living with Parkinson’s Disease, and underwent surgery for basal cell carcinoma. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five–<\/strong>time Grammy Award winner, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee releases her new album six decades after her solo debut, and her voice is still as unmistakable as it ever was, as the album sees her revisit themes that have long defined her work. Love, memory, family, self-reckoning, and forgiveness all feature, while there is still space allowed for contradiction, ambiguity, and emotional evolution. The result is a collection that moves fluidly between reflection, confrontation, and acceptance, expanding the album\u2019s scope into something both deeply personal and timelessly philosophical.The album\u2019s title is drawn from \u201cSlowly,\u201d a song centered on patience, return, and emotional renewal. In the lyric, feelings rise and recede like the tide, carrying the quiet reassurance that even the heaviest emotions do not remain forever. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album carries across it the idea that all these emotions arrive in waves, and they move through her songs with their own force and timing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Created alongside a close circle of family, friends, and longtime collaborators who have remained part of Simon\u2019s creative world across decades, the album features contributions from John Fort\u00e9, whose appearance on the record arrives following his passing earlier this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simon\u2019s son, Ben Taylor, appears throughout the project as a singer, musician, producer, and songwriter, and her daughter, Sally Taylor, contributes vocals and created the cover artwork for the single.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Legendary producer Paul Samwell-Smith returned to revisit and rework ‘Share The End’, a song he originally produced for Simon\u2019s landmark 1971 album, ‘Anticipation’ <\/em>and continued to help oversee the entire project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, acclaimed producer and engineer Frank Filipetti, one of Simon\u2019s most trusted longtime collaborators, was a driving force behind the project, playing a central role in shaping its direction and bringing the music to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Comes In Waves’ in no way attempts to recreate the past, bur rather, it continues the conversation Simon has been having with her audience for decades, one grounded in truth, vulnerability, and a refusal to simplify emotion.
