The EP mirrors the joy of a THERA live show from beginning to end. As the opening track, ‘deja vu’ begins, you can almost feel the stage lights burst into life and the crowd roar beneath thumping bass as she blossoms into her first notes. Over soaring guitar solos, she screams, “Are you ready, Dublin?” and is met with a wave of excitement before breaking into the rock-tinged pop hit, underpinned by chiming synth lines. This opener is a performance in itself – but the energy never falters throughout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hypnotic ‘fate\u2019 follows on a high note, before \u2018rain’ offers a haunting and melancholic alternative to her otherwise towering sound, its mesmeric hook – “over and over and over again” – lingering long after it ends. One thing she consistently maintains is her confidence as a performer, encouraging the audience to throw their hands in the air as she delivers the enchanting and addictive ballad effortlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While these previously released tracks have marked the beginning of THERA’s career, a live EP allows us to take a closer, more intimate look at the young artist who holds a crowd in the palm of her hand as easily as she writes raw songs rooted in her personal experiences. ‘Do you see?’ and ‘guardian angel’ offers heaps of energy, proving her live set never becomes boring or repetitive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paying homage to the pop icon, the setlist also features a sultry cover of Charli XCX’s ‘Break the Rules’, which clearly sends the audience into a frenzy with its rockier take on the synth-pop hit – even introducing the crowd to her drummer, bassist and guitarist with glee. Yet probably the most momentous point of the EP is ‘rewind’, which opens with her speaking her native language in Prague’s O2 Arena.
