\"Anthony<\/a><\/p>\n

Get ready for The Asylum<\/a> – one of the UK\u2019s most exciting and unique club events of the year. The 16 hour underground dance marathon will be held over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, starting on Saturday 4th April, and brings together a wide array of world-class electronic artists.<\/p>\n

A fantastic new collaboration between club brands Freeze and Cream, the event takes place in two separate locations.\u00a0 Part 1 at the courtyard of the old Newsham Park Hospital, with techno titan Marco Carola performing an extended set; he is joined by fellow luminaries LEON, Bill Patrick and Jemmy. Part 2 continues at Nation in Liverpool, featuring taste-making pioneers and icons from the underground techno and house scene.<\/p>\n

Founded as an orphanage in 1874, The Asylum was later converted for use as a hospital specialising in psychiatric illness, and many of the wards remain untouched since its closure in the 1990s. It looms forebodingly over Newsham Park and contains a labyrinth of dark corridors, dormitories and possibly haunted wards.<\/p>\n

\"Marco<\/a><\/p>\n

Marco Carola, who originates from Napoli in southern Italy, was instrumental in the development of the electronic scene in the early 90s, taking the techno Neapolitan scene across the globe. Famed for his energetic and impressive three-deck style of mixing and long journey set, Marco has remained one of the most in demand DJs on the planet throughout the last two decades,<\/p>\n

\"Bill<\/a><\/p>\n

Nu-Romantic Bill Patrick, began his DJ career in the legendary clubs of NYC, he was also the founder of the famed “Robot Parties” and hosted a weekly show on “Robot Radio”.<\/p>\n

In 2008 he made the move to Berlin, and is now a stalwart of the huge festivals such as Sunwaves in Romania, and super clubs like DC10, Fabric, and Rex in Paris.<\/p>\n

Currently holding the A&R title for Guy Gerber’s Supplement Facts label and hosting his popular radio show, Private Stock on Pulse Radio, Bill still finds time to update his social media, explaining that he wants to step out of his box and come to you, to educate the minds of the world with his deep, psychedelic take on contemporary dance music.<\/p>\n

Matt Edwards produces quality music under a number of different guises (Quiet Village, Sea Devils, REKID, The Machine), but it is perhaps his “Radio Slave” name that most people will be familiar with. Over the last 5 years, as Radio Slave, Matt has released a string of underground club hits on Rekids such as “My Bleep”, “Bell Clap Dance”, The “No Sleep” series and the anthemic “Grindhouse”. Aside from Rekids, Matt has released on a number of other esteemed labels such as R&S, Om, Running Back and Ostgut Ton.<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to his unique production style, Matt has managed to carve out his own distinct Radio Slave sound which many often try to emulate, and which makes him a highly sought after remixer. DJ Mag listed him as one of the greatest remixers ever, and also awarded him ‘Best British Producer’ in the ‘Best Of British’ awards. To date, Radio Slave’s remix credits include artists such as Armand Van Helden, Slam, UNKLE, DJ Hell, Josh Wink, DJ Sneak and many more.<\/p>\n
