London’s Lara Brewer brings a new twist to the old saying, “don’t cry over spilt milk”, with her new single, ‘Spilt Milk’, released on the 22nd of January. The track is the third release from her latest EP, ‘Madly In Hell’.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With alt pop influences, ‘Spilt Milk’ takes a dark look into resilience, as Lara Brewer shows her determination and strength as she stands her ground in the break down of a relationship. The song is part of a continuing story that started with ‘Antisocial’, and ‘8 Ball’, and will conclude with next single, ‘Expired’. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting out as a stripped-back guitar piece accompanied by vocals, ‘Spilt Milk’ was transformed into the exploration of acceptance, resilience, and letting go that it is today. The track is the third instalment in a four-part narrative, which follows the rise and fall of a fictional relationship, with dangerous undertones. ‘Spilt Milk’ brings into the narrative the unsettling story of boundaries being blurred between empowerment and obsession, with the protagonist standing her ground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as the songs in the ‘Madly In Hell’ EP are all connected, so too are the accompanying music videos, which come all together, unfolding like a short film. It’s a unique take on music, expanding the experience beyond merely the sonic, and continuing the story visually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Madly In Hell’ is Lara Brewer’s debut EP, and while it may seem an ambitious start, all the signs are there to suggest that she has the talent to continue the way she’s started. Lara worked on the EP with songwriter Steve Overland, and producer Jayde, while calling on her own background in drama, placing just as much importance on visual storytelling as on the songs themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
