"gadje

Gadje Scum are a five peice outfit, from Belgium, formed in 2011 and consisting of Will Harwood (Vocals and Slide Didgeridoo), Sanne Werkers (Guitar, Electronics, Backing Vocals), Bauke Meersman (Alto Sax), Dylan Meersman (Trumpet) and Joris Meys (Tenor and Baritone Sax).

Having achieved success in their native country, the band are now looking to bring their very unique sound to the UK and further afield.

With a live show that boasts a 3-piece horn section, a guitarist that is more machine than man, and a rapid-fire MC, we think they’ll be sure to make a huge impact.

We highly recommend a listen to the latest EP from Gadje Scum “No Laws On A Sunday”. An eclectic, diverse mix of balkan beats, latin and dub with pinch of hardcore, the sound is hard to define. We found it to be a fresh, sensory delight, hard to pin down, but thoroughly enjoyable.

The EP consisted of Five tracks:

  1. Monkey On My Back

  2. Last Man Standing

  3. The Game

  4. Up In Smoke

  5. Luigi’s Revenge

Our favourite track on the EP “Monkey On My Back” is rather reminiscent, in parts, of UK Ska band The Specials, which we feel is a good thing.

We also love “Luigi’s Revenge”, which is recorded live, and sounds great.

You can listen to and purchase “No Laws On Sunday” by Gadje Scum from their website.

For more information about Gadje Scum and details of upcoming gigs, check them out on Facebook.

We look forward to seeing them perform in the UK soon.
