Remember we interviewed Ricky Rebel<\/a> last year?\u00a0 Since then Ricky has gone from strength to strength, and is now teaming with world-renowned DJ Hector Fonseca to remix his song \u201cStar\u201d, to be released on Fonseca\u2019s Audio4Play Label<\/a> on 30 March. Hector has worked with the biggest names in the pop and dance worlds, from Madonna to Lady Gaga, and has remixed 15 number-one hits on the Billboard dance charts for artists including Beyonce, Sia and Katy Perry.<\/p>\n

“I get so many requests daily to work with artists, but Ricky is one of the few who really caught my attention,\u201d Hector says.\u00a0 \u201cHe has a classic yet totally fresh and unique voice.\u00a0 His style, persona and drive make him the total package.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cStar\u201d is an autobiographical look at Ricky\u2019s musical career, and is the opening track from Ricky’s “The Blue Album”, a ourney of decadent, glam-pop tracks – stories of love, loss, ambition, inspiration, rebellion, salvation – and most of all, living unapologetically without fear.\u00a0 It’s the follow up album to “Manipulator”, released in 2012.<\/p>\n

“I wrote \u2018Star\u2019 after a friend asked ‘what do you want?\u2019\u201d, Ricky explains.\u00a0 \u201cIt was a simple question to answer.\u00a0 I wanted the same thing that I’ve wanted since I was a child.\u00a0 My goal in writing this song is to inspire people around the world to stop hesitating when it comes to going after their dreams.\u00a0 In life, you’ve got to ask for what you want, then tell people who you are and share your possibility.\u00a0 It’s not enough to think \u2018I am a star\u2019.\u00a0 You have to say it out loud and enroll people in that possibility.\u00a0 That’s how dreams manifest.\u00a0 I wrote it for my fans who doubt themselves.\u00a0 I want them to know that if you believe in yourself, anything is possible.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
