Nova Scotia\u2019s own Jon Mullane<\/a> returns after a two year hiatus for what promises to be the best chapter yet of his nearly 20 year career. New single, ‘Remember In November’, the first off his upcoming EP, which is set to drop in the spring, is touching, evoking the brighter sunlit days, while being written from the grey haze of November.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

‘Remember In November’ sees Mullane collaborate with two of the top A-list hitmakers in the business. Written in Nashville, he worked alongside Grammy-nominated songwriter Michael Dulaney, whose seven #1 Billboard hits have been recorded by nearly every major name in country music, as well as songwriter, record producer, and composer, Michael Jay, whose catalogue of hits includes ‘Toy Soldiers’, the number 1 Billboard smash for Martika.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With ‘Remember In November’, we watch through Mullane’s rose-coloured glasses as he allows a wave of nostalgia to sweep over him; he relives each moment of falling in love, the tenderness, and the feeling that nothing else matters. With shimmering guitars and a soulful beat, Mullane’s vocals are soulful and gravel-edged, washing over listeners satisfyingly smoothly. The chorus bursts forth, filled with indie rock energy, as he explains that this isn’t just your garden-variety love song, but rather an homage to a once-in-a-lifetime connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the music video for ‘Remember In November’, we are allowed to lose ourselves in the romance of Halifax, Nova Scotia, following a pair of young lovers as they enjoy each other’s company, on a summer night out on the town. With glowing sunsets, the flashing of amusement park lights, and the couple’s smiles, we are overcome with a sense of serenity that pours out of every frame. Mullane makes it clear, as his voice bounces off the walls of the Astor Theatre, Liverpool Nova Scotia, one of Canada’s oldest, that it’s just a memory.
