Music has always been at the core of Brandon Lee Adams’ life, right back from when he was an eight year old boy in West Virginia, with Tony Rice’s Church Street Blues on repeat. From there he got into Dylan’s words, then Eric Clapton’s unplugged style, James Taylor’s songbooks, New Grass Revival, and Alison Krauss’s records – all had a deep impact. That love for music has seen Adams performing on stages across the country, from MerleFest, to an Irish Pub Tour with Johnny Statts. Along the way he’s also shared studios with many of those who initially inspired him, and his guitar work has also featured on two Grammy Award-nominated albums.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Back in 2019, Adams’ album, ‘That I Was Leaving’, dropped three charting singles, but the Covid-19 pandemic got in the way of his touring plans. Still, he didn’t waste his time, and, shifting his focus to TV, he created, produced, and hosted the Emmy Award winning, ‘Life Of A Musician’, for numerous PBS affiliates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now he’s back, writing, recording, and releasing new music. He got to record with some absolute legends as well, including Vince Gill, Tim O\u2019Brien, John McEuen, John Jorgenson, and Glenn Worf – a once-in-a-lifetime lineup. Brandon Lee Adams’ latest single, ‘I’ll Follow Summer’, sees him reflect on the past, with gratitude, while looking with anticipation and excitement at what lays ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directed by his wife Mindy, along with Wilky Black of Hayzens Productions behind the camera, the music video for ‘I’ll Follow Summer’ is well crafted as it shows every player on screen, side by side, in the studio. Speaking of the clip, Adams says, \u201cThe concept was to just show everyone behind the curtain. This is what it looks like and sounds like to do this\u201d. It’s friendly and homey – a gathering of friends getting together for a natter as they jam. There’s comfort and love in that room, each member contemplating the words and music that means so much to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following ‘I’ll Follow Summer’, Adams has plans to release more music, including a reimagined version of Gordon Lightfoot\u2019s, ‘Song for a Winter\u2019s Night’, and a live duet of, ‘I Long for 17’, with his late friend Tony Rice. Next spring he’s booked to headline the Hippodrome in Richmond, plus some additional university dates, as well as a full length album planned for next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
