Ahead of this he&#8217;s dropped new single, &#8216;Volunteer&#8217;, and it&#8217;s every bit as groovy as you might imagine.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With &#8216;Volunteer&#8217;, Nick Vivid could just as easily have stepped out of the heady days of the 70s with his funky instrumental rhythms and Bee Gees-esque vocals. It&#8217;s certainly not disco, if that&#8217;s what you&#8217;re thinking though. The beat swaggers along as the muted sounds of the organ and the thrumming rhythms of the drum, gloriously supporting Vivid&#8217;s helium voice that almost transcends reality with its falsetto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Listen to the lyrics however, and you are taken on a journey into Vivid&#8217;s mind, where he&#8217;s mulling over the fact of being taken for granted, for his generosity being taken advantage of. It&#8217;s a bittersweet story that brings the track out of the past and places it firmly in the here and now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nick Vivid takes a fully-DIY approach to his music, crafting most of his recording gear himself, including homemade guitar pedals and synth filters, as well as custom pre-amps, which he modelled after Giorgio Moroder&#8217;s Helios console.
