An incredible songwriter, Daisy Briggs manages to fully encapsulate with her words the minutiae of relationships. Latest single and music video, ‘no contact’, is just the latest brilliant release from this talented artist, showing why we think she is one to watch.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It’s short and sweet at just over 2.5 minutes long, but ‘no contact’ does exactly what it sets out to do, and lays out its message and perfectly. It feels like a journal entry, or otherwise a letter to herself, as Daisy sings of putting distance between herself and someone she’s had a summer fling with; she knows he’s no good for her but at the same time, she still cares for him and could quite easily cope with one more day, before going “no contact” tomorrow. The instrumentals are stripped back, yet perfectly polished, Daisy’s vocals front and centre, showing that her words are where we need to focus our attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking about her music, which has seen her use it for the past 15 years to make sense of her relationships, and the world and her place in it, Daisy Briggs says,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video for ‘no contact’ sees Daisy after the storm, as it were. She’s in a reflective mood, seeing the relationship in a different light, taking advantage of the last days of summer sunshine, lolling in the grass, with the wind gently blowing her hair behind her. We aren’t told whether or not she decides to go back to him, but it’s certain that she’s confident that this isn’t the end of romance for her. There’s always a new day for young love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
