As passionate as she is esteemed, electric violinist Susan Aquila<\/a> has stepped out on her own, and for the first time, she’s playing music that she’s written, rather than her incredible covers. The first single of this ambitious new venture is ‘I Took It For Me’, a stunning track that fully captures her enthusiasm and strength of character – as well as her immense talent.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

While many in the music industry know all too well that there are plenty of charlatans out there ready to hijack your career, name, and livelihood, and sadly Susan Aquila has also experienced this. A toxic business partner swept in and put his \u201cdirty fingers in every corner of her life,\u201d pressuring her to give over control and let him take over. Thankfully this partnership didn’t last long, and with, ‘I Took It For Me’, Susan has crafted an anthem of an artist who has stood firm and refused to be undermined by a dodgy dealer. The track is just over three minutes of fierce pop bless, which sees Aquila transform her anger into strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With punky angst and soaring strings, blended with grungy vocals, strident guitar riffs, set against a fist-pumping beat, ‘I Took It For Me’ is the perfect anthem for anyone who needs to tell another person to get out of their way. The music video for ‘I Took It For Me’ sees Aquila resplendent in elegant outfits, fit for a princess. We see her chatting on the phone, with her chihuahua by her side – who’s named Queen Victoria, no less – and of course playing her electric violin. She’s happily sharing how she’s now broken free, and everything she does from now on is hers, and hers alone. It’s an empowering and effusive message – “I’ve got tomorrow – I took it for me”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
