Set the date – Casey McQuillen’s ready to walk down an aisle of contemplation and nostalgia with the wistful new ballad, ‘Wedding Date’, Unearthing a softer yet equally emotionally-driven shade of her vibrant pop-rock sound, the London-based singer invites us on a melancholic journey through the heartache of two people who can’t be together yet can’t stay away from one another.

Painting a portrait of a love caught between longing and loss, ‘Wedding Date’ serves as a hopelessly romantic “what if” – an imagination of the on-and-off connection resulting in a fairy-tale ending. Blossoming from a bed of hushed guitars and ethereal, intimate vocals that almost quiver with sadness, the ballad transforms into a cinematic chorus that could immaculately soundtrack any romance drama.

While the track builds with anticipation, we never reach a momentum and the melancholy continues – much like the aching refrain of being someone’s almost. From the loneliness of long-distance calls to drunken confessions, her feelings come to light on someone else’s wedding day – where she pictures a different outcome, surrounded by friends, flowers and a promise to a future with one another.

‘Wedding Date’ follows a career-defining year for Casey, fresh off a giant European tour supporting Eurovision winner Loreen throughout the spring and legendary pop star Anastacia. Capturing the hearts of an arena of fans – up to quarter-million in total – she’s evolving into the sensation she’s meant to be – authentic, relatable and infused with mainstream potential.

If you’ve ever been someone’s “what if”, ‘Wedding Date’ is the aching confession you’ve been waiting to resonate with.
