With yet another soul-stirring quest for adventure, Baltimore’s Mark Davison, has us ‘Dancing On The Edge’, the new single and video for his band, Nuke The Soup<\/a>. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The track comes ahead of their much anticipated new album, which sees Davison joined by keyboardist Brian Simms, bassist Mike Mennell, drummers Chester Thompson and John Thomakos, among others, and addressing themes such as our mortality, and the natural world, while offering a means of escape – if only mentally – for their listeners. With a dynamic, gritty rock style that captures the moment and is well suited to a huge range of listening occasions – on the open road, surfing the waves, or taking to the ski slopes – not to mention relaxing at home – Nuke The Soup has something for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New single, ‘Dancing On The Edge’, takes its inspiration from a quote by Daniel Duane in his memoir, ‘Caught Inside’, written about a year he spent dedicated to surfing. Nuke The Soup’s Mark Davison’s passion isn’t for surfing, but rather skiing; nonetheless the two sports have a similar vibe in terms of exhilaration – living on the edge, dancing even, if you will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Dancing On The Edge’ has a super-catchy drum loop from Chester Thompson, with a retro guitar sound that gives us hints of The Eagles and a classic organ vibe that calls to mind 1960s surf rock. Sheila Ford provides backing vocals, the perfect counterpoint to Davison’s lead. It’s packed solid with an energy that’s impossible to resist, and will altogether transport listeners to another time and place, where the current weight of the world is lifted off our shoulders and forgotten for a while…for 3 minutes at least.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaborating once more with Danny Brown, the music video for ‘Dancing On The Edge’ serves as yet another love letter to Aspen and its skiing culture. Born and raised in Aspen, Brown uses his technical expertise from nearly two decades as a videographer and digital producer and combines it with his hometown knowledge. He knows what makes Aspen tick and with breathtaking shots manages to capture it at its very best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seasons of Aspen are captured in a gorgeous time lapse, with locals and visitors alike skiing down the fresh powder, interspersed with clips of spring flowers blossoming against glorious blue skies. There’s even a cameo from Mark Davison and his son, as they carve through the snow as effortlessly as if they were born to it.
