Following on from our review with Kelly Morgan about her new single, ‘I Remember PT2<\/a>‘, we asked the exciting new artist some questions about her life and her music.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Your new music video has been generating a lot of excitement! Could you start by introducing yourself and telling us a bit about the inspiration behind your latest single and the accompanying video?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Kelly Morgan I\u2019m a pop\/r&b singer from Atlanta Georgia, who loves to sing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inspiration behind the latest single is about a bittersweet relationship that you try to leave, but you end up in a cycle of coming back to that person, based on all the good times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As far as the video goes, I felt like it needed to show how sometimes we can get caught up in a person. It can really go for any relationship in our lives. I wanted to show the transitions of how it can show up in our everyday lives if we are out with our friends or just having flashbacks of the good times with that person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you walk us through the creative process behind bringing your song to life visually? How did you come up with the concept for the video?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I feel we showed part of when I\u2019m out with the girls you think of letting go and having fun, but even while I\u2019m with them, I\u2019m thinking of the relationship. Or the scene when it shows the flashback of a happy relationship but it goes right into me remembering all the bad that comes along with it snapping me back into the cycle that continues on with the person I\u2019m with.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you decide on the visual style and themes that complement your song? Did you draw inspiration from any particular sources?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We decided to go with an\u00a0early 2000s pop\/r&b feel, since that\u2019s the era I was a kid in. The song is supposed to give a nostalgia vibe, because it\u2019s a bittersweet remembrance of a relationship that\u2019s an ongoing cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What were some of the most rewarding moments for you during the making of this music video, and how did you overcome any obstacles along the way?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most rewarding moments were when we got a particular shot and we just felt like “Wow this is the one”. I feel we told the story in a very throwback way that fits the theme of the song musically as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As viewers engage with your music video, what do you hope they take away from the experience?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope they receive it well. We tried our best to tell the story in visually pleasing way, as well as musically. I want them to feel empowered, and to know they aren\u2019t the only one who has been through a cycle like this. I want them to relate it to something familiar in their lives and to be able to identify if they are in a similar relationship like the one portrayed in the video.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many artists infuse their music videos with personal elements or experiences. Is there a particular moment or aspect of your video that holds special significance to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would say when I\u2019m dancing and out with my friends, but you have memories stopping you from living in the moment, because you’re thinking about that person. That has definitely happened to me. Dancing with my friends but the spotlight was just on me. The scene feels the most significant to me because I have felt that way you can be in a crowd full of people, but feel so alone because of a situation you’re in or just thinking about someone.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on your previous projects, how do you feel you’ve evolved as an artist in terms of your visual storytelling and creative expression? What new elements did you explore in this project compared to your previous work?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I feel I\u2019m starting to become more free with exploring different types of topics and being able to put myself in that situation especially if it hits home. I explored more heartbreak of a song. Usually I\u2019m always singing about self-empowerment, or going for your dreams. I tried something new with ‘I Remember PT2’ for sure!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you elaborate on any specific symbols or visual motifs used throughout the video, and what they represent in the context of the song?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The camera held by the guy who is the lead, in the flashback scene, symbolizes memories. The projector on the back shows even though I\u2019m having fun dancing I\u2019m still thinking about the rent-free situation in my head. Dancing with the dancers symbolises me stepping out and being confident in my choice to be okay without being with the person.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the release of this music video, what’s next on the horizon for you? Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations that you’re excited to share with your fans?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would say expect new music guys! And I\u2019ll be opening up for major artists soon again – I can\u2019t wait to announce who! New music for sure, and a new single is coming soon, so stay tuned. Love you guys! And more merchandise tailored to my fans’ needs and wants!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
