Growing up in Frederick, Maryland, Jes Marie started taking voice lessons when she was a mere 4 years old, on the recommendation of her school teacher. While she was always finding ways to express her creativity along the way, starring in musicals at school, and so on, she eventually enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she found she had a talent for country music, and took inspiration from the giants int the genre, including Dolly Parton and Shania Twain. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Nowadays she makes her home in Los Angeles, with her husband Joe Sobalo Jr., a local actor and director, and Jes Marie released first single in 2018, and has been making a name for herself ever since. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Girls Night Out’ is a call to action from Jes Marie to women everywhere in this post-Covid19 Pandemic world. On the surface it’s a celebration of the fact of Jes and her friends being able to have a night out together again, but below the surface, the track has a deeper message about women claiming their place in the music industry – in country music in particular, the scene has clearly been biased in favour of male artists, and Jes’ aim is to make other women feel empowered and confident – much like Shania Twain did for Jes Marie’s own ambitions when she heard, ‘Man, I Feel Like A Woman’, for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video for ‘Girls\u2019 Night Out’ follows Jes as she gets ready and then heads for a night on the town with her girlfriends. Shot in a single day, wiht most of the cast and crew making up close friends of Jes, it was directed by her husband Joe Sobalo Jr. and produced by Chad Lau. Special note must be made about Gizmo, the adorable long-haired chihuahua playing her true companion, who relaxes by the pool and enjoys a spa day alongside Jes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
