He soon started writing poetry, taking his inspiration from his everyday life, and from there he transformed his words into song, matching them to moving melodies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A four track EP, &#8216;Now Is The Time&#8217; opens with the energetic &#8216;Another Dollar&#8217;, which combines reggae stylings with Afrobeat influences. A collaboration with Vinnipee and Conscious Productions, at BLESST Studios, in Birmingham, the release sees him also utilise ska rhythms (particularly in track 2, &#8216;Hiyarter&#8217;, which feels like an homage to The Specials). Track 3, &#8216;Love Will Make Us A Way&#8217; is probably the furthest departure from reggae, with a contemporary pop feel to it, while track 4, &#8216;Let Me&#8217;, closes with the opportunity for Reuben to fully express his rich vocal talents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8216;Now Is The Time&#8217; is out now, and is available to stream and download <a href=\"https:\/\/ditto.fm\/reuben-jay-now-is-the-time\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.
