Watkins is an artist with many strings to his bow, but his specialities are RnB and hip hop. His songs explore themes such as love and relationships, as well as personal growth, and he’s found an audience that’s on the lookout for relatable soulful and authentic music.

With his inspirations coming from the likes of Michael Jackson, and Prince, you can get some idea of what you’re in for with D. Watkins, who’s long studied their vocal abilities and stage presence. Even so, he’s learned through this that the very best you can be, when it all comes down to it, is yourself.

Ahead of us upcoming album, ‘Frequency’, D. Watkins has charted new musical territories for his style, and has incorporated an Afrobeat influence into his sound. With the support of his father, who serves as both his producer and manager, he’s maintained an unswerving dedication and determination to his craft.

New single, ‘Slow Wine’, sees Watkins blend Afrobeat influences with his signature RnB and hip-hop sound, adding depth and richness to the music, and expanding his audience appeal with its infectious rhythm and melody.

The music video for ‘Slow Wine’ sees him partying with his friends, with his leading lady serving as a focal point, the epitome of elegance and class, yet relaxed and sensual. The clip is as chill as D. Watkins’ sound, and may well put the viewer in party mood.

Watch the music video for ‘Slow Wine’ below, and find out more about D.
