After a decade of producing music for other artists, Houston’s Michael Little proves that it’s never too late to follow your dreams, and has released his debut single, ‘Yesterday’. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Describing his sound as a fusion of urban and soul, Little says it’s his aim to avoid emulating other artists, and instead create his own sound. Nevertheless, he still cites the likes of Prince and Keith Sweat as among his greatest influences, and he also holds very dear to himself a personal connection to Gerald Levert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Yesterday’ sees Little pour his heart out to his girlfriend. The artist was widowed after being married for 11 years, and found solace and new love from his church. He and his new girlfriend have been together for three years now, and he’s poured all the emotions and feelings he has for her into this compelling, and soulful track. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With moving beats and flowing rhythms, ‘Yesterday’ sees Little tell the world that she is the reason why he has been able to make it this far. He also relates to the context of the past, conveying to the audience that love never dies, and even after loss, there’s always a way back to love. We dare you to not shed a tear or two when listening!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video for ‘Yesterday’, directed by Curtis Little, shows Michael singing and performing intimately with his lady love. Making full use of colour to reflect their emotions, red is shown to represent love when they are dancing together, and blue when they are apart. The clip shows that Michael and his partner are very much able to recreate the emotion already apparent in the clip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
