21 years after their ever-popular,\u00a0‘A Christmas Album’, beloved band\u00a0Bright Eyes\u00a0–\u00a0the talented trio of\u00a0Conor Oberst,\u00a0Mike Mogis\u00a0and\u00a0Nate Walcott\u00a0–\u00a0\u00a0have returned to celebrate the holiday season with a heartwarming version of\u00a0John Prine\u2019s\u00a0\u201cChristmas In Prison\u201d ft John Prine.\u00a0Prine, a notoriously huge fan of the Christmas season, was a friend and hero to\u00a0Bright Eyes\u00a0frontman Conor Oberst,\u00a0and all proceeds from the single will go to benefit Prine\u2019s charity,\u00a0The Hello In There Foundation<\/a>.\u00a0Featured within the rendition is a sample from the song\u00a0\u201cA John Prine Christmas,\u201d taken from its eponymous\u00a0A John Prine Christmas EP\u00a0from 1993.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

All proceeds will go to four major beneficiaries of The Hello In There Foundation\u2019s 2023 grantees \u2014\u00a0Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition,\u00a0Porters Call,\u00a0National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, and\u00a0Renewal House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans can also purchase a bespoke Prine x Oberst holiday\u00a0ornament<\/a>, the proceeds of which will also go to The Hello In There Foundation, and comes with a digital download of the track.\u00a0All digital purchases will come with a\u00a0festive Christmas card\u00a0for fans to send to their friends and family.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
