Spooky Season is still going strong with Minneapolis industrial rock group, Gabriel and the Apocalypse, and their latest single and video, ‘Get Dragged’.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Founded by Lindsay Gabriel, whose powerhouse lead vocals will find their way into your very soul, Gabriel and the Apocalypse is a duo, the other half being Jake LaCore on guitar, supported by a live backing band. They hold nothing back, with hard-hitting subjects such as death, sex, grief, and aggression, all handled with their raw emotive talent. Their dark sound and energetic performance has been honed on their nationwide tours, and now they’re ready, willing, and able to rock your Halloween and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With pounding drums and screaming guitars, ‘Get Dragged’ posits that it’s far less scary to ghost the other person in a toxic relationship than confront them. Jake LaCore’s guitar note for note replicates the heartache, shame, and confusion, outlined in Gabriel’s lyrics, while she vocally expresses a range of experiences, from childlike innocence and fear, right through to demonic possession, as she outlines what it’s like to be in a doomed relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the music video for ‘Get Dragged’, presents an even more – if that’s even possible – intimate and intimidating look at the horror of a disharmonious relationship. Directed by Cody Hoffman, who is a frequent collaborator with the band, we see closeups of Gabriel’s face, decorated with nets, and symbolic images of cocoons and birds, in a visual representation of her desire to flee from the ties that bind. Additionally, insect motifs are scattered about, ensuring we are both enthralled and repelled. It’s a Halloween song that isn’t just for Halloween, so watch it all year around – if you dare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
