Released on October 2nd, ‘You’re not the thief you think you are’ is the new single from calm army. Led by songwriter Ands Walker, calm army is a musical collective from North West England.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Opening with a folk\/country guitar and percussion, ‘You’re not the thief you think you are’ features the dulcet vocals of Kerry Walker, who is returning to music after a hiatus spanning several years. The storyline is centred on a Bonnie and Clyde story, and with hard-hitting lyrics joined by witty metaphors, results tells a tale of a toxic relationship, that is bittersweet while being incredibly catchy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘You’re not the thief you think you are’ will remind listeners of other female-led bands such as Shakespears Sister, and The Corrs, but the country vibes and narrative are reminiscent of the likes of Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name calm army speaks for itself; by very definition they are a collective of musicians whose uniting focus is on tranquility. The group’s sound is influenced by elements of pop, along with modern folk tales, the result being a soothing, and thought-provoking soundscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This might be the first track you hear from calm army, but it certainly won’t be the last. The collective has several tracks set for release over the next six months, and we’re definitely looking forward to hearing what they’ve got in store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
