Dancehall artist Imark wants to bring listeners into his world, and show them the sights and sounds of his home, St Kitts and Nevis.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Growing up he not only absorbed the music of his country, but also that of the world, finding role models in Rap, R&B, Hip Hop, and Pop, and his unique sound, primarily a blend of Dancehall and Caribbean Pop, also includes the influences of West Coast Hip Hop and Jazz, as well as Reggae, and Afrobeat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imark’s 2019 album, ‘Indelible’, and his 2020 follow up, ‘Cosa Nostra Volume 1’, serve as a history of his rise from the angst-ridden talented young man to reflective inmate, to the blossoming creative he is today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Significant Half’ is the newest entry in Imark’s steadily increasing discography. The perfect romantic mood setter, we find Imark showering his lady with compliments and promises of a lifetime’s worth of passionate love, layered over a seductive, yet incredibly danceable, beat. With a flow that combines classic Dancehall with rap and RnB-infused hip-hop, Imark transitions with easy grace from mainstream tropes to Caribbean slang and references.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video for ‘Significant Half’, directed by Icey Jace, gives us an even better sense of the song. After a failed theft, Imark is in jail, longing for his loyal lover. With stylish cinematography, we swiftly move from the dark hues of the cell to the glorious colours of Imark’s release, as he falls back into his lover’s arms on the stunning Jamaican coastline.
