Vienna, the capital of Austria, is known as the theatre and musical capital of te world, and it’s been home to plenty of quirky musical artists, including Falco, and today’s featured artist, International pop singer-songwriter ViennaCC. Proud to represent his hometown in his stage name, Heinz Riemer was classically trained in piano, studying the work of Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart. It’s modern pop however that’s won his heart, the music of Britpop artists, and folk poets such as Bob Dylan gave him inspiration. From there he honed his craft, performing with pop, rock, punk, and dancehall bands in Vienna’s world famous nightlife scene. Now, ViennaCC brings his unique and fearless musicality to audiences across the world, on his new EP, ‘Screenshots’, released in September, and his latest single, ‘When The Cats Come Out’.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

While quite eclectic, ‘When The Cats Come Out’ is nonetheless a catchy earworm that will have you hitting replay as soon as it’s finished. It’s not simply a track about cats coming out to play at night, but rather it also serves as an allegory about the ladies ViennaCC has observed, when they come out to enjoy the nightlife. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The instrumentals – synths, drums, and bass, are oftentimes oddly juxtaposed against each other, while ViennaCC’s vocals twang the lyrics at angles to the sound. There’s a cabaret vibe to the track, fun, edgy, and slightly dangerous. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video for ‘When The Cats Come Out’ was directed by Heinz Riemer himself, and shows him as he walks through the city streets. Over the course of the video the cats come out, gradually turning into people ready to party with ViennaCC. Watch to the very end however, as there’s one cat that ViennaCC probably didn’t bargain for!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
