Released on September 1st, ‘Blue’ is the latest single from Saint Pacific, and the title track of his new album. Appropriately for the artist whose previous track was the deeply analytical ‘Carl Jung<\/a>‘, ‘Blue’ sees Saint Pacific take a deep dive into the many different aspects of love.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Saint Pacific (Nate Smith to his friends) shows us that ‘Carl Jung’ wasn’t a one-off, and that his raison d’\u00eatre is introspection and extreme contemplation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sombre, satisfying and serene, Saint Pacific’s vocals draw the listener in, laid against an instrumental that would easily find itself in a David Lynch film. There’s an eeriness to his sound that is further highlighted by the accompanying music video, which is itself quite Lynchian. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking place in an apartment that’s looks to have been trapped in time from the 70s, Saint Pacific is flicking through the channels on an ancient tv, with strange characters filling the screen. Suddenly he sees himself on there, and the barrier between reality and fantasy is breached, with all the characters joining him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the while, Saint Pacific is imploring for someone to stay with him tonight, because he’s feeling blue, and name-checking Nick Cave, which seems fitting, as he’s clearly an inspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
