Released on June 28, ‘Fathoms Down’ is the new album from Steve Harrison And Friends. Following on from his 2022 album, ‘Iron Age Eyes’, ‘Fathoms Down’ takes a journey over ten emphatic tracks, the lyrics layered over gentle guitars, beautiful guitar harmonies, and subtle drums. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The album opens with the title track, Harrison’s lyrics fun and fluid, caught between poetry and prose, his laid back voice accompanied by the sweet backing vocals of Jennifer Sanin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Track 2, ‘Cherbourg To Biarritz’, documents a cycling journey between the two French towns, and setting up camp along the way – covering 50 miles a day and living under canvas by your wits. It’s fun and catchy, and utilises the prosaic style of the previous track. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other tracks of note include ‘Crooked House’, and ‘All Night Dreaming’, which take a look at the period of childhood going into young adulthood. The album was put together at Slipway Studio, Hampton, where it was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Simone Filali. Instrumentals were provided by Steve\u00a0on piano and guitar, Chris Hampson playing\u00a0<\/strong>bass guitar, drums and percussion from\u00a0Andy Martin, and Dave Brammer on woodwind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steve Harrison, who hails from Lowestoft, has been a member of the music business for many years now, having played both by himself and as a member of the band Spectrum. ‘Fathoms Down’ is the result of 10 years of writing, and serves effectively as an autobiographical work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
