With a sound that transcends cultures and joins them in song, multi-faceted artist Anna Aya pays homage to the individual parts of her identity in her new single, ‘Someone Else’.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A Japanese Armenian, who lives between Los Angeles and Tokyo, Anna Aya could be caught between cultures, but instead brings them together in harmony. Fluent in both English and Japanese, the artist has forged careers as a singer, dancer, model, and actor, and carved a niche for herself as an international pop star, in the J-Pop realm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Someone Else’ sees Anna merge English and Japanese verses, and the seamlessness between the two is testimony to her talent. The accompanying music video, made in partnership with iconic fashion brands, Fendi, and Christian Louboutin, tells the story of a romance gone awry. Captivating and glamorous, the visuals are hugely complemented by Anna’s hypnotic vocals, over a multi-layered instrumental. She takes a journey of self-discovery, portrayed in the video by her going into her wardrobe – Narnia-style – and discovering a whole other world, filled with mannequins, and in particular a perfect male specimen, whose sole purpose appears to be to adore her – think Ken in The Barbie Movie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna realises however that it’s not enough to have someone wait on her every word and look, she needs someone who is real and can respond; someone else. The clip ends with her emerging from the wardrobe, realising and embracing her self-worth, and deciding to go out into the world to find her own way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
