420MUSE is a Hawaii-based musical collective, led by producer Jack Miller, and their new single ‘In The Nightclub’ has an experimental quality about it which is matched by a music video that is a celebration of freedom and openness.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

‘In The Nightclub’, the new single from 420MUSE, is a sizzling track and a guaranteed party starter, that’s sure to get everyone up and on the dancefloor. A seamless integration of elements taken from hip-hop, blues, jazz, soul, electronic music, dub, and rocksteady, it’s been merged into a single propulsive sound. The group brings to it all their individual specialisms, such as singer\/songwriter\/multi-instrumentalist\/producer\/beat maker Reggie Griffin, who has contributed to the hits of many legendary artists such as Chaka Khan, Grandmaster Flash’s Melle Mel, The Isley Bros, and Toni Braxton; and the distinctive vocals and raps, delivered by singer\/songwriter and sax player, Drumson Richardson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jack Miller himself, while making his home in Hawaii these days, forged his musical roots in another island paradise, Jamaica. While there in the 70s and 80s, he played with Kingston legends, and his documentary “Dreadlock Rock: The Story of Reggae Music” takes a comprehensive and heartfelt look at one of the most influential movements in the history of popular music. Ultimately, because of Miller, while ‘In The Nightclub’ has an eclectic style, it takes reggae as its base inspiration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video for ‘In The Nightclub’ shows a venue that is a playground for experimentation: not just musical and social, but also sexual. Under the neon glow, the DJ is looking for the perfect record, while dancers strut their stuff. Some lovers get together; others split apart; some approach the objects of their affection, while others remain on the edge of the room, plotting their next move. All the while, the music sets the rhythm, showing it’s the perfect choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
