Released July 7, ‘Senseless’ is the new single from guitarist\/vocalist Craig Douglas Miller, who performs as Blueburst. While he’s probably classed as a “new” artist, the 50 year old Miller had moderate success with his band, The Reach, back in the 1990s, before taking a 20 plus year hiatus due to untreated clinical depression, writer’s block, and, in his words, “perhaps a few too many gin and tonics”.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A chance meeting with Marty Willson-Piper, a former long time member of seminal Australian band The Church, set Miller back on his musical path, with Willson-Piper agreeing to act as his mentor and collaborator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Covid-19 Pandemic gave Miller, like many other musicians, the opportunity to work on his sound, and he resurrected his home studio, where he created an album’s worth of original tracks, naming the project Blueburst, after the finish on his favourite guitar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Senseless’ follows on from March’s release of ‘Vanish’, and comes ahead of the release of the album, ‘Significance’, later this year. A dreamy, guitar-led alt-rock piece, ‘Senseless’ taps into the emotions experienced by Miller as he fights his demons; he’s not beaten yet. Soft lead vocals with gorgeous harmonies, the influence of Willson-Piper is evident in the sound and, we hope, a long-lasting collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
