With a never-ending creative flow, Makes My Blood Dance (MMBD for short), return with their latest single and video, ‘Heaven Collides’. Frontman Evan Russell Saffer met songwriting partner and MMBD’s lead guitar\/synth player Jon Kristian Polimeni when the pair were both early in recovery from addiction; they bonded over their mutual passion for metal and bonded over their personal journeys. With Polimeni brings a deep technical knowledge and curiosity for the epic sounds of metal, Saffer brings a spark to both stage and studio with performances that have been informed by musical theatre.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Backed by Filia Luna on bass and drummers Allan Zaparoli (in the studio studio) and Crow Starbird (on the road), the quartet ensures that speakers, hearts, and expectations are all turned up to 11 when their tour bus rolls into town. Underneath all the glitz and metal though they continue to promote messages of compassion, growth, healing, and wholehearted, balls-to-the-wall living.

The title track from their upcoming tour (tickets available here<\/a>), ‘Heaven Collides’ is everything we’ve come to know and love from MMBD, and even more so. Opening with a dramatic crescendo worthy of any choir, Kristian comes in with his guitar while Saffer agonises in despair; longing for connection to take them out of the dark place. With drums crashing, the song mounts the desperation, and a rippling solo ensures that it’s a track not just for the metal-heads in the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official lyric video for ‘Heaven Collides’ borrows heavily from the tortured imagery of the occult and the mystical, graveyards and fallen angels, amping up the agony already apparent in the song. The visuals and the music entice on the viewer and, if they weren’t already, pull them up onto the dance floor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
