Even though a drum city would certainly be a loud place to live, it definitely wouldn’t be one that lacked discipline, and it would certainly have plenty of rhythm. ‘Drum City’, from Carmine Appice and Fernando Perdomo sees them build a powerful sonic soundscape, and one that is guaranteed to get your feet tapping. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

From the album ‘Running Up That Hill’, ‘Drum City’ by Appice Perdomo features two artists doing what they do best. Fernando Perdomo is an American musician best known for his work as a producer and session bassist and guitarist, while Carmine Appice is an American rock drummer, best known for his work with Rod Stewart, King Kobra, and the power trio, Beck, Bogert & Appice. He was inducted into the\u00a0Classic Drummer\u00a0Hall of Fame in 2013\u00a0and the\u00a0Modern Drummer\u00a0Hall of Fame in 2014. Carmine literally wrote the book on rock drumming: his best seller,\u00a0‘The Realistic Rock Drum Method’\u00a0was first published in 1972; since then it’s been revised and republished as ‘The Ultimate Realistic Rock Drum Method’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Drum City’ isn’t just about the drumming, of course. While Carmine Appice builds up a solid foundation of drums and percussion, he’s fully supported by the swirling guitar riffs laid down by Fernando Perdomo. The pair work in close conjunction, becoming as one in the track. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video for ‘Drum City’ is also an exercise in joyous harmony. Brightly coloured artwork, created by Appice along with contemporary artist, painter ED Heck, serve as a background for the musicians as they do their thing – sometimes – in the case of Perdomo – even upside down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
