‘Firepit’, the latest track from Scoville Unit’s album, ‘See What Can Be’, is refreshingly approachable, upbeat, and genuine, and a great antidote to the cookie-cutter music that we hear on the radio these days.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Written and recorded mostly in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, the adopted hometown of Gandhar Savur, who founded Scoville Unit with his college friend Drew Isleib, ‘Firepit’ works on the band’s customary sentimental songwriting, and turns one man’s contemplation about backyard firepit sessions with friends, into a fun, memorable, and mildly psychedelic groove of a song. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the 50s inspired guitar of Kevin Shelbourne, and drummer Rob Hunsicker providing a catchy rhythm, ‘Firepit’ is a song that will be echoing in your mind for at least the rest of the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video for ‘Firepit’ has all the fixings of a gathering of old friends. Tales of friendship, romantic dilemmas, nostalgia for the past, and plenty of whiskey to make sure it all goes down smoothly. Shot through a filter to recreate the classic camcorder style, the band and their friends jam around the firepit, and as the night goes on, the filter blurs somewhat, reflecting that perhaps a little too much whiskey has been imbibed. It’s the perfect track for a long hot summer, and who knows that maybe it’ll be played around many other firepits this year! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
