{"id":82159,"date":"2023-06-16T11:19:50","date_gmt":"2023-06-16T09:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essentiallypop.com\/epop\/?p=82159"},"modified":"2023-06-16T11:19:52","modified_gmt":"2023-06-16T09:19:52","slug":"scoville-unit-are-burning-up-with-latest-indie-pop-release-firepit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essentiallypop.com\/epop\/2023\/06\/scoville-unit-are-burning-up-with-latest-indie-pop-release-firepit\/","title":{"rendered":"Scoville Unit Are Burning Up With Latest Indie-Pop Release, &#8216;Firepit&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&#8216;Firepit&#8217;, the latest track from Scoville Unit&#8217;s album, &#8216;See What Can Be&#8217;, is refreshingly approachable, upbeat, and genuine, and a great antidote to the  cookie-cutter music that we hear on the radio these days.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Written and recorded mostly in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, the adopted hometown of Gandhar Savur, who founded Scoville Unit with his college friend Drew Isleib, &#8216;Firepit&#8217; works on the band&#8217;s customary sentimental songwriting, and turns one man&#8217;s contemplation about backyard firepit sessions with friends, into a fun, memorable, and mildly psychedelic groove of a song. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the 50s inspired guitar of Kevin Shelbourne, and drummer Rob Hunsicker providing a catchy rhythm, &#8216;Firepit&#8217; is a song that will be echoing in your mind for at least the rest of the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The music video for &#8216;Firepit&#8217; has all the fixings of a gathering of old friends. Tales of friendship, romantic dilemmas, nostalgia for the past, and plenty of whiskey to make sure it all goes down smoothly. Shot through a filter to recreate the classic camcorder style, the band and their friends jam around the firepit, and as the night goes on, the filter blurs somewhat, reflecting that perhaps a little too much whiskey has been imbibed.
