Out of Berlin, Germany, K4LT is an avantgarde musician and producer, whose new single, ‘LCPD’, released on 2 May, addresses one of the most painful types of break-up: the amicable one.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

K4LT is a visionary multi-instrumentalist, who isn’t afraid to address the bleakest of truths with the coldest of emotions, and he does it by employing a combination of genres, including Alternative, Indie, Avantgarde, Post-Punk, Doom and Dark Wave – making the resulting style his very own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘LCPD’ is K4LT’s first release in the past two years, following a series of personal setbacks and the loss of loved ones. Because of this, ‘LCPD’ is somewhat different to his first EP, ‘Endgame’, and is calmer, more structured, and less rock-focused, while at the same time maintaining his characteristic ominous aesthetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While guitars were the main instrument in his previous works, he has now expanded the role of synths in his sound, including a modded Omnichord. The guitar is still there however, but now provides an emotive layer, rather than providing riffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While K4LT’s name is pronounced “kalt”, the German word for cold, ‘LCPD’ is anything but – rather it’s emotive and heartfelt, his vocals somewhat reminiscent of David Bowie’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
