Based in Denver, International Furlough is an alternative metal solo project, comprising Ian Luddy on bass, guitar, and vocals, with additional drums provided by Ryan Elwood, and produced by Jeff Kanan of The Keep Recording. Two new singles, ‘Down On The Pharm’, and ‘Blind In One Eye’, were released on March 25.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With heavy lyric themes, snarling vocals, and guitars that relentlessly riff like there’s no tomorrow, the tracks hold nothing back, allowing Lundy to express his inner discontent in music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of the singles, Ian said,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Blind in one Eye and Down on the Pharm speak for themselves in terms of subject matter. Lyrics were inspired by a crippling dependence and strong discontentment. With the instrumental sections matching the heaviness of the lyrical themes, the end result is an engulfment in down tuned distortion, thick bass lines, and heavy drum beats that mirror the heaviness of the lyrics they support.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Lundy started International Furlough as a passion project back in 2017. Delayed by several years of surgical setbacks, and subsequent pharmacological challenges, he’s finally got back on board with a total of 9 tracks, and a second album is on its way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Down On The Pharm’ starts as it means to continue – hard rocking drums and guitars, with growling vocals, pounding and thrumming through the listener’s brain. Lundy uses the track to fully express his feelings about being caught up in the spiral of relying on prescription drugs. ‘Blind In One Eye’, is no less powerful, with gnarly electric guitars supported by pummeling beats, and Lundy’s snarling vocals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
