Originally from Geneva, Switzerland, Mik Ivy now makes his base in London. The 19 year old singer-songwriter’s new single, ‘DEVIL’, makes use of the theme of “chasing something that is toxic for you”, with the result that it’s hugely relatable.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With a rock sound that reminds the listener of the likes of Lenny Kravitz, The Rolling Stones, and Jimi Hendrix, Mik Ivy’s anthemic rock single ‘DEVIL’ is heavy on the bass and savage on the lyrics. The gritty, dark vocals are deeply seductive, and entice the listener, compelling them to will themselves to wherever Mik might want to take them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driving bassline draws the listener in, and sets the tone right from the start, and it was this which gave producer Balthazard something to work with. The heavily distorted guitars and pounding beats rip into the listener’s soul, and at just a hair under 3 minutes long, it’s a tease of a song that makes us want to know so much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘DEVIL’ is the follow up single from ‘837’, which Mik Ivy released at the age of 17. His style, while still developing, is certainly mature enough to take on the big boys, yet he is young enough to freely take what he wants from where he wants – elements of Indie Pop and Alternative Rock find their way into ‘DEVIL’, as well as the clear influences of the afore-mentioned artists, and also the likes of The Strokes, and Arctic Monkeys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
