With a thrumming bassline and a fast paced percussive beat from the get go, Mainland Break’s new single, ‘One Way Ticket To Midnight’ will have you finding it difficult to resist having a bit of a bop, whether you’re in your chair or on the dance floor.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It’s the rhythm section that leads the track, but that’s not to say the rest, the clashing guitars and frantic vocals, don’t have their time in the sun. There’s a really retro vibe to the track; think New Order, or maybe early U2 – definitely think The Smiths, and The Cure – but ‘One Way Ticket To Midnight’ is still very contemporary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘One Way Ticket To Midnight’ is the lead track from Mainland Break’s upcoming debut album of the same name, which is set for release on 21 July. Mixed by Joey Oaxaca (White Reaper, Twen, Mamalarky) and mastered by Dave Cooley (M83, DIIV), ‘One Way Ticket To Midnight’ is a refreshingly alive track, and makes us excited for what is yet to come from this band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video, which you can watch below, is as laid back as the track, with the members of the band playing pool in a dimly lit bar. For all we know, the track could be playing in the background, there doesn’t at once seem to be any connection between the clip and the song. But then, why should there be? They’re having fun, enjoying themselves, with their one way ticket to midnight, where nothing else matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
